The Shiok Insurance Plan only covers the Essential, Pro and Ultimate devices that are bought from Shiok POS.
The insurance plan covers repairs for defects caused by manufacturing or hardware failure and excludes damages caused by the merchant.
The following cases are not eligible for insurance coverage:
Damage due to mishandling or improper use
Loss or theft of devices
Cosmetic damage that doesn't affect the functionality
Damage caused by unauthorised repairs or modifications
Eligibility⌄
Only merchants who have purchased the POS devices from Shiok POS and the accompanying insurance plan qualify for the Shiok Insurance Plan.
Duration of coverage begins at the point where the merchant purchases the insurance plan and continues for the duration of the contract.
The insurance is tied to the original purchaser and cannot be transferred to a new owner, location or other devices.
Payments & Pricing⌄
Payments must be made on a monthly basis, at the set date specified in the merchant's contract.
Failure to make payments or late payments will result in the merchant's insurance plan becoming invalid or even being cancelled.
Shiok POS reserves the right to amend the pricing of the insurance plan accordingly, without prior consultation with merchants. However, if this is the case, Shiok POS will notify the merchants accordingly.
Limitations of Liability⌄
The insurance will only cover repairs of devices and does not include replacement of defective units.
The insurance does not cover any loss of business revenue or indirect costs resulting from device issues.
Terminations⌄
Merchants can cancel the insurance plan at any time, but refunds, if any, will be subject to approval.
Shiok POS reserves the right to cancel the insurance for reasons such as non-payment, fraudulent claims, or breach of terms.
Both the merchant and Shiok POS may cancel the insurance plan with one week's notice. The cancelling party is responsible for notifying the other party.
